   Fruit Season

Youth groups from Christian churches are needed from mid June to the end of August. Youth groups from churches all over the U.S. and some foreign countries, volunteer for one or two weeks during the summer months. We welcome junior high and high school age youth along with their leaders. It takes 80 people to run the processing line. We have dorm accommodations for students and leaders.

Your Youth Group could be doing this next summer!
Help provide food for the hungry. The Lord has prepared a good work that brings his love to the lost. Gleanings For The Hungry is the perfect place for you and your hard working youth.

Each group needs to bring adequate leadership according to the size of the group. One adult per 7 - 10 youth is recommended. Leadership must include a woman to sleep in the girls dorm and a man for the boys dorm.

It is very important that each person brings a signed medical release form in case of an accident or illness. Also, any medical information regarding allergies or any other medical restrictions is very helpful.

To help defray the cost of the food and housing we ask each person to pay $75 per week. If you are interested in participating in Bowling or the Water park please have each person bring additional funds for these activities. A Snack shop with goodies is also available.

As you arrive Sunday afternoon or evening your group can get settled in. We ask that your group will have eaten the evening meal so our cooks can have one day off.

We work from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday with two 15 min breaks and 1 hour for lunch each day. As you leave Sat. afternoon we ask that dorm rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. are clean in preparation for the next group.

Working with fruit can be messy. For work hours it is best for each person to bring a modest T-shirt, shorts, tennis shoes (no flip-flops) that may be discarded at the end your stay. Don't forget to bring a swim suit and towel.

Each person will need to bring personal items such as soap. Shampoo, towels, sunscreen, hat, etc. We also recommend each person bring their own water bottle. It's very important to stay well hydrated in the summer heat.

Our dorm rooms are made up of twin sized bunk beds. Each person will need to bring a pillow and sleeping bag or sheets and a blanket.

A laundry facility and soda machine (both take quarters) and a snack bar are all available.

Please do not bring radios. Walkmans are fine.
