Soupmix

During the non-fruit season, we produce a nutritious vegetable soup mix starting from the end of January lasting until mid-May. The beginning of this year’s 2008 soup season has started off with an excitement in the air. We are anticipating a great season as we got all the machinery cleaned and ready to go, and as God had abundantly supplied a large amount of bulk dehydrated vegetables during this past summer and fall. Last year, in 2007, we mixed over 9.7 million 8-ounce servings and shipped to 35 countries.

Our goal this year is to make 20 million 8-ounce servings of soup.
We have already begun to bag the powders and will be starting the actual soup mixes within the week.

We see our ministry here at Gleanings as a “two-handed” ministry –ministering to the needy of the world both physically and spiritually through the distribution of the soup that is made here, and also fellowshipping with the Mission Builders who come to work with us. Each day is started with a prayer time with the “veggie soup crew,” building community with the workers God has sent us. A special bond is formed when you pray with the ones you work with.

We are looking forward to meeting new co-workers and renewing friendships with Mission Builders who have been here before!!
